United star turns down opportunity to play at Conference level in order to stay with Ossett.

Chris Chantler who joined United earleir in the season and has become a regular in the recent 'in form team' who picked up January club of the month in the  Evo-Stik League, has told clubs who are interested in him that he is going nowhere. Two clubs from the Conference North and the National League have made recent approaches for Chantler and despite offering lucative terms they were told "No thank you, im happy here at Ossett".

"I have started something here with the lads and I intend on seeing it through. The club is going somewhere and I want to play my part in it at this very special time. I have known the manager for some time and when we discussed me coming here I was very keen to see what he was doing. The lads here are amazing, the backroom staff are class and the fans in Ossett are tremendous, this is a great club" added Chantler.

Chantler will play a key role in tonights County Cup Semi Final against FC Halifax Town as he has done for the last 7 games. "I have know Chris for a long time and played with him too. I know what he is all about and now the fans do too. He came to us looking for a new challenge and I beleive he has found what he was looking for. Of course other teams will be interested, we have a few players that could play at a hgher level but they have all bought into what we are doing here and that makes me very proud in how we are going about things.".

Ossett take on FC Halifax Town tonight at Ingfield, kick off 19:45, tickets £8 adults with concessions and kids prices available too.
